【Original Intention • Chapter Three | Cooking for Our Neighbors】

Some flavors are meant to hold on to a place;
some commitments are made because we cannot let go of the people within it.
For over twenty years on Ap Lei Chau Main Street, Nicole has witnessed this street slowly change. Shops have come and gone, yet some familiar customers have always been there.
An elderly man living alone walks in quietly in the afternoon.
A construction worker, after a long day, reaches first for a bowl of hot soup.
A mother carries takeaway home, saying it is something the whole family can eat with peace of mind.
These everyday moments reminded Nicole of one thing:
A meal is never just about filling the stomach.
Some need warmth. Some need strength. Some simply want, in the middle of a busy day, a bowl of food that feels steady and reassuring. That is why we keep refining our portions and flavors, hoping that every bowl we serve truly meets the needs of our neighbors.
We listen to feedback and welcome criticism. This shop has never belonged to us alone; it belongs to this street and everyone who supports us day after day.
Cooking for our neighbors may sound simple, but it is a responsibility we uphold every single day.
Over the years, we have preserved more than just the taste of the harbor;
we have kept the warmth and humanity of this street alive.
Our original intention began with the sea;
our commitment remains with the people.
And this story continues because of our neighbors.
